 and Social Inclusion

Sustainable agri-food and urban organic farming are key areas of activity for Organisation Earth.
 
Our actions aim to educate and raise awareness of the public, including members of vulnerable social groups through experiential workshops and seminars and to develop educational material for professionals (farmers, teachers, etc.) on Sustainable Development Goals, Smart Agriculture, funding in the agri-food sector, European agri-food policies and support for international campaigns on the Common Agricultural Policy.

Enhancing Employment Opportunities in the Green Sector

The Green at You project, initiated by Fundacion Accion Contra El Hambre and working with European partners such as Universidad Politecnica de Madrid and others, seeks to open the gates of green employment to people in vulnerable situations, with the aim of reducing the risk of social exclusion.

Purpose and Expected Results

  • Alliances for Green Transition: Linking new jobs created by the green transition with individuals in vulnerable situations.

  • Reducing Social Exclusion: Leveraging green jobs to combat social and gender exclusion in green sub-sectors.

  • Creation of Training Modules: Development of 58 training modules, supported by micro-certifications, to enhance employability and entrepreneurial skills in the green sector.

Project Actions

  • Education and Training:Provide training to 480 people to increase employment opportunities in the green sector, either through face-to-face training or through the MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) platform.

Activation and Inclusion through Organic Urban Farming

Organisation Earth undertakes initiatives that focus on sustainable agri-food and environmental education, aiming to empower vulnerable groups. Through experiential workshops and seminars, the opportunity is offered for education, awareness raising and active participation in collective activities, promoting a sustainable lifestyle.

  • Organic Urban Agriculture and Nutrition: encouraging sustainable production and consumption to improve psychological and physical health.

  • "Center of the Earth": The educational center of the Earth Organization offers the ideal space for holding workshops.

  • EARTH K44 Multi-Cultural Center and Pocket Parks: Carrying out actions in urban spaces that strengthen the community and the connection with the natural environment.

General description

The Easy Gardening program aims to train vocational trainers of individuals with intellectual disabilities (VET) in environmental education, specifically in connecting with nature and organic farming. The program intends to enhance their skills so that the training process and educational material are inclusive for individuals with intellectual disabilities. Trainers will be able to help individuals with intellectual disabilities develop their skills, preparing them for entry into the job market, which will, in turn, strengthen their social inclusion.

Purpose

  • Training of vocational trainers of people with intellectual disabilities across the EU in the field of connecting with nature and organic farming, enhancing their knowledge and skills so that they can then contribute to the social inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities,

  •  Designing and implementing new local policies supported and promoted by young people,

  •  Raising awareness and informing young people about the European Green Deal and its role in the ecological transition

  • Development of citizens' civic responsibility and increased engagement in issues related to the sustainable development of their cities.

  • Promotion of experience exchange and joint learning among partners from different European cities to develop local strategies and actions related to the European Green Deal and ecological transition.

  • Contribution to the dissemination of European environmental policies at the local level, with a particular emphasis on youth.

  • Mobilization of all community members, including individuals with intellectual disabilities and their educators, to take action against climate change and contribute.

Project Actions

  • Organic farming book for people with intellectual disabilities and training guide for trainers of people with intellectual disabilities.

  •  Training in capacity building in Organic Gardening for trainers of people with intellectual disabilities.

  •  E-learning platform for workers in the field of training of people with intellectual disabilities and any other stakeholders. 

  •  A strategy game based on the needs of trainers of people with intellectual disabilities as well as people with disabilities themselves.

Beneficiaries

The main target group of the Easy Gardening project is trainers working with individuals with intellectual disabilities.

The target groups that will indirectly benefit from the project’s activities include individuals with intellectual disabilities, their trainers, partner organizations, NGOs, the local community, vocational training centers connected to the project activities, universities, as well as local authorities and government agencies.

Agri for Integration

The project develops an integrated framework that strengthens the coherence between migration, agriculture and labour market integration. It aims to develop and implement a local strategy for the bottom-up integration of third-country nationals in the agri-food sector. Actions focus on empowering them, enabling them to actively participate in improving their integration outcomes, as well as engaging the host community.

  • Creating a local strategy for the integration of third country nationals in the agri-food sector labour market

  •  Training programme "working in the sustainable agri-food sector" for third country nationals

  •  Workshops to strengthen intercultural competences of the local community

  •  Career guidance programme in the agri-food sector for third country nationals

  •  Electronic platform "Agri for Integration"

  •  Promotion of work objectives and public awareness raising through public information campaigns

Purpose of the project

  • Empowering third country nationals to improve their participation and integration outcomes through active involvement in the design and implementation of integration policies

  •  Promoting the integration process of third country nationals through their integration in the agri-food sector

  •  Increasing opportunities to develop career skills and employability

  •  Raising awareness on sustainability issues and relevant EU policies

  •  Increasing networking opportunities with local, regional and national stakeholders
